What is the best way to paint w/out gettin ceiling paint on wall or wall paint on ceiling. whats the best way?

don't listen to any of those answers

I'm a lic ptg contractor and this is how we do it ....

don't worry about getting the ceiling paint on the walls you actually want to get the paint on the walls then use a 4 inch brush and paint the wall color up onto the ceiling about 1/4 inch that way when you look at the wall and ceiling all you see is a straight line the ceiling line does not wave at you ... i will say this again paint the wall paint up onto the ceiling edge about 1/4 inch if you have to go back a 2nd or even a third time to cover .when your done your walls and ceilings will look GREAT and nice and straight

but mind you im just a lic painting contractor who's been doing this for over 30 plus years

Painters tape. U put it where u don`t want paint. Make sure u get painters tape..cuz some other tape will not work right. What is the best way to paint w/out gettin ceiling paint on wall or wall paint on ceiling. whats the best way?
masking tape
A steady hand and a good brush. Been doing it like that for many years. I have never liked using masking tape.
use guide boards, you can buy themin any good diy store.
You could mask the wall while painting the ceiling and then mask the ceiling while painting the wall, but that will take a lot of tape and time.

There is a tool called a paint pad, which I think works very well. It allows you to paint an area about 4'; wide. Because it is easy to work with and easier to control than a brush, I use it anywhere I need to be specially careful.
tape the edges of the walls, and use a roller and run it carefully along the wall
Use special blue masking tape that comes off easy. You get this at Home Depot etc. stores other paint stores Fran
use a roller made for that, there are rollers that cut down on chance of overcast
