Can you paint a cork ceiling?

I have finished a room in my home that was the original ';home'; the ceiling is cork, and it was in ok condition so i left it alone. Can I paint the cork? If so, what type of paint should I use?Can you paint a cork ceiling?
Yes if you use a product like Kiln sealer on it first. If not it soaks up the paint and looks patchy. Can you paint a cork ceiling?
use a heavy oil base enamel to prime first the any paint you choose should be fine
Yes you certainly can. I would recommend priming it with a primer having a SHELLAC base, it will absorb and last longer. Actually it would be better if you had primed the underside before putting the ceiling up because if there is ever any water leak the cork will be saturated and ruined. After priming, use one coat of Kilz primer. Then two topcoats of whatever you want to use.
Cork is absorbant and it should be very easy to cover with any wall paint, tho it may require 2 coats as any wall might.
I would certainly think you can roll it with a latex paint without any problem.
Use a paint sprayer thing, it will get into the holes. Just use house paint.
Use enamel paint - for wood surfaces - but you'll need to use a good primer first.
It should be primed with an oil-based paint ,sprayed with a good airless sprayer. You will have to shoot it one direction then again the opposite direction because of the pits. Then i would recommend doing the same with a flat latex finish coat.Flat has less light refraction and eliminates glare from glossiness.
