You need a roller with more of a nap to hold the load of paint, especially for a ceiling. Nylon won't last and will drip and splatter more.

Go down to the local tool rental and rent a sprayer. It applies paint more evenly and y would u put oil based paint on a ceiling? Is it metal?
oil base paint takes a special short nap roller with a certain blend. it should be marked on package.
